Oliver's Indepth Conversation

Over the last few days Oliver has been talking up a storm. Most of the time it just sounds like jibberish, but sometimes it sounds like actual words and kind of even makes sense. And all of the time it's certain that he knows exactly what he's talking about and is very determidly saying something quite important. It has been so fun talking with him! I'm glad that it looks like Oliver will be a big talker - I'll always have a friend to talk to, especially when Brian is out of town.

July 4th

For the 4th of July, we headed back down to St. George to celebrate. Brian is still in Denver, so we needed people to play with. Dexter's favorite part of the day actually happened early - sleeping in bed with Mommy, looking all cute and cozy. Other than that, at 2 months old, he didn't do much celebrating. Oliver had much more fun. We went back to the splash fountain and falls and this time I even got to play as Dex slept happily in his carseat. Ollie loves it there! Then we all (Grma and Grpa O. and Derek, Cristina and Jude) went to my uncle Rob's house for burgers and dogs, homemade ice cream and homemade hot fudge, and packaged fireworks. Ollie wanted to be like the big kids, so he of course thought he had to wander out in the street. And Grandpa Oliver set a great example by running around the fireworks for the "traditional" tribal fire dance. We had tons of fun!

Funny Ollie

Oliver is so cute and is a very endearing kid. He just makes me laugh so hard sometimes. He's new thing is to climb up on chairs by himself. He's starting to get the hang of it, which is unfortunate for his safety. The next pic made me laugh for about 10 minutes when I pulled it up on the big computer screen. He was just biting that little orange loop on his overalls when I took the picture, but his face came out so funny! He's other new thing is climbing into the baby swing. Cristina is loaning us this great swing, one that goes both ways, plays lots of different music and sounds, has many speeds - the works. It's great! I thought that I would only be putting Dexter in it, but it turns out that Oliver loves it, too! Dex likes it like a normal baby - for sleeping. Ollie likes it like a danger baby - for a jungle gym. He's so crazy!

Camo Boys

I put both of our cute boys in this little outfit that Brian's aunt made for Brian when he was a baby and took pictures to document it. I did that part on purpose. What I didn't realize, however, was that I did it almost exactly one year apart. Ollie in Brian's outfit - taken June 21, 2008. Dexy in Brian's outfit - taken June 30, 2009. Granted Oliver was 3 1/2 months old and Dex is not quite 2 months, but it's still cool!

Keep Your...Feet Off the Dinner Table?

When we got back from St. George, we were still lonely. So, we have aslo spent a couple of days playing with Marie's 4 fun and crazy boys. While she took a much needed overnight date with her husband, my mom and I watched the boys. We made them Mac and Cheese and peas for dinner and Oliver was eating with one foot up on the table basically the whole time. He loved playing and eating with friends!

Ollie in the Fountain

Ollie in the Waterfall

Oliver was so cute playing in the splashplay fountain that I thought, what the heck - might as well put some videos on the blog, too!
